One Does Not Have To Blog About Blogging To Create A Winning Blog

There is a huge misconception that one has to blog about blogging to create a winning blog or a blog  that brings in money.. In other words, people believe that blogs cannot be successful unless they are about blogging, social media or the usual affiliate marketing blah !

Hogwash..

The Modern Workplace

I think the modern workplace is so varied that the whole objective of productivity is misconstrued.

Basically, I am used to, and still excel in an environment that has a lot of camaraderie, good communication and great teamwork. So, I should technically opt for this as the “ideal working environment”.

But no !

Why?

At one point in time, I used to work well under pressure and used to prefer a fast-paced environment. But now as those bones “creak”, I would opt for a much calmer setting in order to do some of my best work. Now I used to give high priority for dress code and formal environments, but after working in a place that has no “hang-ups” for the business attire – you generally get pulled into the casual environment. This is because, casual environments are more flexible about attire, work hours, and other factors. So personally, I feel that working in an environment where the atmosphere is quite relaxed, friendly and flexible and with a casual dress code to match, brings out the best in you.

Now wait a minute – by casual environment, I don’t mean 6 hour days, with office chair basketball, sushi once a week, shorts and t-shirts, etc., or always having internet access to some great music with a cool speaker system, or an open air refreshment where there is great food always available, or a place with sunlight streaming in from the windows and having state-of-the-art temperature control and designer paintings on the walls !!!

There is no harm in dreaming huh?

So would I be right in saying that my ideal job consists of a workplace where I can grow not only professionally but intellectually. A place where my own ideas are well received and there is room and space for innovative thinking. In other words I would like to have a job where I can "wear many hats" and where my abilities are maximized. And ofcourse, a place where my know-how and work is appreciated vis-à-vis financial gains and economic stability

Although deadlines are fun, it can stress us all out, so it is important to have fun and this can only be achieved in a place that has great camaraderie.

I would also like the option of working from home once a while.

So the bottom-line is that I would like an office with a relaxed atmosphere and a few of the above qualities. In other words, an organization that has some of these qualities and appreciates balance and flexibility.

Ten Ideas

Nobody Is Man Enough

If you are bachelor, you might think I am not man enough. But the beauty is that nobody is man enough. Some people feel that Osama Bin Laden is Laden with shit and is changing places every week not because US President George Bush will find him, but because his wife will reach him.

Bush didn't abandon the flag during the shoe onslaught

Our glorious leader, General Pubes was recently caught in a shoe incident in Iraq. A quick viewing of the video certainly leaves one with the impression that the Chosen One actively dodged the shoe, thereby allowing it to strike the “Stars And Stripes”, thereby desecrating its holy cloth with the stink of islamunistofascist footwear.

Hollywood decides to go public

It has been decided that due to the exhorbitant prices charged by the Hollywood stalwarts, producers have decide to list them at Wall Street. Now, their prices will be decided as per market listings and as per the market value, their share prices command at the time of signing a new picture

Two squashed balls.

Fat men's balls are always being smashed as there is nowhere for them to run to and nowhere to hide. A fat man's penis will suck up into his body cavity, but the balls are left behind to fend for themselves. So they are always aching and always sweating and it's just disgusting. Sometimes they get pulled up on top of all the fat and flab, but they aren't at rest because they're being pulled too far out of place.

Christian Anti-Defamation Commission

There is a gay and secular fascism in the country that wants to impose its will on the rest of the people. Those in anti-homosexual ministries are vilified for working to deny basic human rights to the unbelievers who refuse to submit to our religious laws.
Arseholes have been elected boss and get public attention

Arseholes went on strike this morning and refused to do their daily work. Within a short time the eyes became crossed, the hands clenched, the feet twitched, the heart and lungs began to panic and the brain fevered. Eventually a “motion” was passed that the arsehole be the control center or the “boss” of the body. The other parts had little choice but to do all the work while the boss just sat and passed out the shit!

Prostitute goes on strike

A policeman arrested a prostitute in the Hospital area and was taken to court this morning. Her lawyer vehemently denied that she was a prostitute and that she had been contracted to finish a job at the newly built laboratory. When asked to be specific, the lawyer replied that she was a “social engineer” and her specialty was to build and destroy erections. However, the judge has decided to issue taxes on the Social Engineer, as it was understood that she had not paid any taxes

Why India supported John McCain for the 2008 presidential election

India extended their support to John McCain, when he publicly announced, last Friday, about his grand outsourcing plan. If elected president, John McCain said that he would immediately begin to outsource the cabinet and their respective agencies. McCain re-iterated that the Housing department will be placed with an Indian call center as he felt that the Indians seem to know far better what is missing in the housing scene throughout America these days. Besides, they apparently also have the funds to manage the department and its problems, with their casinos bulging with cash. Besides, the natural skill of these people to manage and stay out of global conflicts was amazing, according to the Senator from Arizona.

Salman Rushdie Is Once Again On The Prowl in Midtown

Sir Salman Rushdie was recently spotted having a drink with an attractive thing in downtown Manhattan. It was said that he was not being able to work as it was one of the terrible byproducts of his breakup with Padma Lakshmi. Salman has described the split as a "nuclear bomb dropped in his living room when you're trying to work. Perhaps, he feels that socializing might help him relax and get himself out of the system, after a day of slogging and groom himself for another grueling day

Both Osama bin Laden and Bush have something in common

When asked what the issue was, secret service officials played down the issue. When pressed for an answer, it was discovered that the answer was crabs. It was discovered both Osama and crabs tend to irritate Bush

Work From Home - Freelancing And Blogging

In addition to monetizing your own blog with advertising spots, paid reviews, affiliate marketing, freelance jobs etc., there are many opportunities on the net for getting paid to blog and other freelance jobs.

The secret is to start using your content to get paid to blog.

If planned well, blogging can take your affiliate income through the roof.

Being Consistent

Many freelancers are inconsistent in marketing themselves and looking for new freelance jobs. This means that when you do market yourself and something comes in, you feel good because you have some income, you have some money, and you feel like your business is going well. But then you take your eye off the ball of marketing yourself and you just focus on delivering your service for your current projects.

Without keeping some consistent marketing in your routine, you're not filling the pipeline for new potential freelance job opportunities. Therefore, when you get a job, you feel great when you finish the job, and after which you have nothing. Result - you scramble desperately to find the next job.

By the time you start marketing again, it takes a while to get the engine back up and going, so it's a very inconsistent way to market yourself. The best way to remedy this deadly mistake that many freelancers make (especially most people who are new to the freelance business) is to set aside a certain amount of time each day to look for new freelance jobs and follow up with potential employers.

This could be a certain amount of time or it could be a certain number of jobs that you're going to apply to. Even if it's just one job a day or two jobs a day, that’s fine. All you need is to pick your rhythm, a success habit that you're going to do daily, every weekday for your business, and it doesn't have to take a lot of time. Set something as your daily goal and make it a success habit.

The key part of that habit is being consistent. It's where most freelancers fail and this is what takes most freelancers out of their business and puts them back into full-time jobs.

When you crack the code as a freelancer, you're going to love it as you're going to earn great money and you're going to have lots of freedom and responsibility to do what you want to do, when you want to do it.

Planning Ahead

Now, let us determine how much money you want to make and CAN make in the next 12 months. First, let us assume the salary you are seeking, say $30,000. Now, let's divide that number by 2,080 (based upon 40 hours per week over 1 year) and you will come up with $14.42 per hour (gross).

Every day, you would have to make over $105.00, and for every week you should set a target of $577.00.

Let us say you are unable to find a job for the first month, which means you have lost an estimate of $2,500, which eventually has to be added on to the yearly salary that you are seeking. So to play safe put in a two-month period [that the time tour search might take], which increases your annual salary target to $35,000, your hourly target to $16.80 or a daily target of $.134.40 [8 hours], or a weekly target of $.672.00 [40 hours]

Now make note of this;

 Your targeted annual salary [12 months] – should be set at $.35,000
 Your hourly rate that you plan to charge would have to be greater than $.16.80, let us say $.17.0
 Divide the figure in #1 by your answer in #2 to get the total number of hours you need to work in the next 12 months to reach your goal.
 Divide the answer in #3 by 2080 [based upon 40 hours per week over 1 year] to estimate the gain you would make and the time you would take to breakeven.
 Then think about how many hours you would have to be putting in, on a weekly basis, so as to figure out how many clients it’s going to take to reach your goal.

The result you get here is how many hours a week you have to work to reach that goal. The only advantage is that you can also work on holidays and get paid on it. This, of course depends on your social life.

If this number seems unreasonable, then you need to go back and reassess your goals. Maybe you need to increase your rates or you need to decrease your goals.

Whatever may be the case, I sincerely hope it works out for you.

If you crack the freelance code and start charging a lot more for your services, you can make it to your goal with far-less hours and fewer clients than you have in mind, and beat out most of the freelancers out there who work without a profitable strategy.

How To Write A Paid Review

Paid reviews can be quiet controversial due to the hype they may create.

But if you would like to learn how to do it well and with great degree of professionalism do read
Andy Beard’s article, ..............a great example of paid-review.

Elsewhere on his blog he offers few but very important points to consider before accepting a paid review:

  • Will your opinion be affected by the fact that you will be paid for writing a review?
  • Are you unbiased toward the product or service you are about to review?
  • If you are offering a criticism is it a 'constructive criticism'

  • While any one can come up with the points above, it is not so easy to put them into practice. If you go through the reviews that Andy wrote in the past, you can agree that he knows what he is talking about. To write this kind of review one needs to put in hours of research plus the time for compiling the review.

Blogging as an income generating source

Some people have strong personal feelings with respect to making money from their blogs.

If you think commercializing your blog is evil, immoral, unethical, uncool, lame, greedy, obnoxious, or anything along those lines, then don’t commercialize it.

If you have mixed feelings about monetizing your blog, then sort out those feelings first.

If you think monetizing your site is wonderful, fine. If you think it’s evil, fine. But make up your mind before you seriously consider starting down this path.

If you want to succeed, you must be congruent.

Generating income from your blog is challenging enough — you don’t want to be dealing with self-sabotage at the same time. It should feel genuinely good to earn income from your blog — you should be driven by a healthy ambition to succeed.

If your blog provides genuine value, you fully deserve to earn income from it.

If you do decide to generate income from your blog, then don’t be shy about it. If you’re going to put up ads, then really put up ads. Don’t just stick a puny little ad square in a remote corner somewhere. If you’re going to request donations, then really request donations.

Don’t put up a barely visible “Donate” link and pray for the best. If you’re going to sell products, then really sell them. Create or acquire the best quality products you can, and give your visitors compelling reasons to buy. If you’re going to do this, then fully commit to it. Don’t take a half-assed approach.

    Either be full-assed or no-assed.

Now it is practically up to people on what they choose...

    Viva - la - blog !!

    Why blog about Pingo ?

Why Pingo is a service that provides International phone calls that are prepaid. It can save you quite a package in comparison to other services

Now the question is why blog about Pingo?

Pingo is a brand you can trust to provide value to your readers with over 90% of Pingo's customers re-order from us! Pingo has NO hidden fees, NO surprises with the best competitive International phone calls rates worldwide.

Besides here you get $5 free International phone calls simply for signing up and an additional for referrals.

The Pingo affiliate program pays you around $15 dollars for every new customer you refer... This is good for guys who have a daily target apart from their blogging amount…. College students/ MBA graduates… please make a note…..

The Pingo card allows you to pay up front and not worry about if you have the money to make the call or how much your hotel is going to tack on to you bill for the call. Next to the Mini bar the hotel phone is one of the biggest travel rip offs out there.

Pingo is also cool because it gives us the option of buying a calling card that will work internationally. Unless you travel internationally a lot you probably don’t really have a good idea how expensive the calls are. If you are based in India…… you have to make it a point to compare the local and international rates…. They set you tickin !!

Pingo it’s the way to go!
